Title

Harvest Outreach

Harvest Outreach is a food distribution center located in downtown Kennewick. We have grown from a storage shed to a 16,000 sq ft. warehouse which helps meet the needs of those less fortunate in the Tri-Cities and the surrounding communities. In 2004 we fed over 16,000 people and gave away over 202,000 pounds of food and supplies. Distributions are made to individuals regardless of age, sex, race, or religious backgrounds. If people are hungry, we feed them.

Vision/Mission: We are committed to reaching our city, county, and state to feed those who are in need. We aim to meet the basic needs of families with economic challenges by providing food, clothing, and household items regardless of race, sex, marital status, age or religious orientation. By doing so, we are giving them hope and empowering them to make a contribution to society. We strongly believe that the small "seed" we invest in their lives reaps a large "harvest" for our community.

Activities and Services:

  • Food/Clothing Distribution: As the only "mobile" food and clothing distribution bank in Eastern Washington, Harvest Outreach provides four distributions per month to the hungry in our community (currently distributing in Pasco at the Martin Luther King Center and Pasco Senior Citizens Center, and in Kennewick at the Prayer Watch Parking Lot on 6th and Auburn). We also provide food baskets to those who visit the Warehouse in Kennewick.
  • Migrant Camps: Volunteers provide food, clothing, and other essential needs during the summer months at the Pasco, Eltopia, and Columbia Park migrant camps. Our goal is to offset the higher demand put on the local food banks and shelters as a result of the great influx of migrant people to our community during the harvest season.
  • Non-Profit Support: Harvest Outreach has partnered with corporations in our community through Gifts In Kind International. This program allows us to provide various goods to other non-profit organizations, as well as individual households in our community. Hands Extended: A ministry that provides food to our church members on an "as needed basis". Partner List: World Vision, Second Harvest, Starbucks, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Krispy Kreme, and Northwest Harvest.
  • Benevolence Ministry: A ministry designed to provide items such as clothing, furniture, household items, appliances, toys to those who are need in within our community.
  • Disaster Relief: An "on call" 24/7 ministry that responds in a moments notice to provide special care items in the event of individual or community events such as fires, floods, high winds, or other types of disasters.
  • Gleaning: Volunteers work with local farmers to glean those items that are available as surplus. These items are then brought into the warehouse and distributed to the community for consumption.
  • Buck Food Breakdown: Most of our food product comes to the warehouse in large buck quantities. Volunteers break these items down into smaller portions to be given out at our food distributions.
